Communications Committee

Communications Committee

In 2007 the Bishop of Manchester, as a result of his extensive experience in the communications field, was asked to be a part of  The Lord’s Communications Committee.

The Committee Convened on 1 May 2007 to look at issues surrounding communications and the media. The Committee's first inquiry examined the role and appointment of the BBC Trust Chairman and whether Parliament should play a greater role in future appointments of BBC Trust Chairmen.

The Committee continues its work by investigating media ownership.
