Bishops Chris and Mark were admitted as members of Mothers’ Union by Bishop Nigel at the annual Festival. Along with members from across the diocese who were reaffirming their commitment, the bishops promised to support the aims and objectives of the society, whose mission is “to demonstrate the Christian faith in action by the transformation of communities worldwide through the nurture of the family in its many forms”.
In welcoming the new members, Diocesan President, Barbara Taylor, announced that the bishops had accepted the invitation to be patrons of the society in Manchester, joining Bishop Nigel who has held this office since coming to the diocese.
