GRANTnet
Welcome to the Grantnet for the Dioceses of Chester and Manchester

The Dioceses of Chester and Manchester have taken out a subscription to GRANTnet, enabling parishes and other local organisations to search a huge range of funding sources free of charge.
What is GRANTnet?
The main features of this interactive database are as follows:
- Inclusion of over 4,000 funding sources.
- Data sourced from EC and government sources, including government departments, local authorities, charitable trusts and corporate sponsors.
- Updated daily.
- Easy to access and use.
- Rapid identification of funding sources specific to need.
- Searches relevant to your local area.
Who can access GRANTnet?
Grantnet is for use by Parishes and related community projects in the Dioceses of Manchester and Chester only. Anyone designated by your parish or related community group can access GRANTnet.
How to access GRANTnet
When using the system for the first time:
- Go to the 'New User' box on the GRANTnet ‘Log in’ screen. Details to be entered include the user’s email address (this will become the username), name, organisation, postal address and telephone number.
- Clicking on the 'Sign up' button will generate an e-mail providing a password within minutes.
Using GRANTnet
- To search the database, the user will need to answer a few simple questions about the project or activity they wish to undertake and the type of funding required. There are seven steps and at each step there is a HELP screen to assist you.
- Once the information has been submitted, GRANTnet provides an overview of all funding schemes suitable for the project.
- When you have completed a session in GRANTnet, details of the final search will be sent to the relevant support officer for your diocese, who will then be able to supply you with a more detailed report of funders you are interested in, and offer relevant advice.
Who will have access to my personal details?
- Your contact details and search information will be made available to the support staff in the Dioceses of Manchester and Chester.
- They will not be made available to any third parties or used to target you with unsolicited emails or advertisements.
In order for us to assess the effectiveness of GRANTnet and to decide whether we should continue with the subscription, it would be most helpful if you could inform your relevant support contact (see below) if any of the applications you make have been successful.
Before you search for funding
We do recommend that you read the attached information sheet and seek support when preparing any application. Experience has proved that successful applications are usually made by those who have received support from experienced people in the grant application process. Please contact the support staff listed below for more information on the support available to you.
