We aim to maintain and promote the distinctive and high-quality contribution
of the Church of England to education provision within the Diocese of Manchester.
The Board supports education in 12 local authorities and has specific responsibilities
towards our 112 aided, 82 controlled and one foundation schools. Of these, 186
are infant, junior or primary schools and nine are secondary schools.
The Board of Education publishes a newsletter each term and officers
provide support, advice and training on many issues as they relate to
church schools. Information on these will be found under the most appropriate
headings at the top of this page.
