Christian Aid is looking for daredevil supporters to abseil from the roof of Manchester’s Renaissance Hotel, on Saturday 11 February 2012. In the process, those brave enough to meet the challenge will be raising money to help eradicate poverty in some of the world’s poorest countries.
The Manchester Sponsored Abseil gives you the rare opportunity to experience the thrill of abseiling a gigantic 160 feet from Manchester's Renaissance Hotel and enjoy awesome views over this vibrant and bustling city.
Anyone wanting to take part will need to pay a registration fee of £15 and pledge to raise £60 in sponsorship money per person. In return they’ll get a free sponsorship pack containing sponsorship guidelines, sponsor forms, publicity posters and a Christian Aid t-shirt! Register online now at www.christianaid.org.uk/abseil
Karen Dudleston, Event Fundraising Officer at Christian Aid, said: "The Manchester Sponsored Abseil promises to be an exciting challenge and a great way to kick start 2012! We want people to rope in their friends and families to take part or sponsor them and watch their descent. It’s a chance for people to challenge not only themselves but also the structures which keep people trapped in poverty. It’s a great way to have fun with your friends and make a difference."
Christian Aid is hoping to raise over £25,000 this year through abseiling. The money raised by the participants will help to support Christian Aid’s work with poor communities in developing countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean.
