St Anne’s is an Arts & Crafts church by J Medland & Henry Taylor of 1880-82 and forms a group with its Rectory and lych-gate. Pevsner says, “Everything is odd about the church”. It is an interesting church both for its outward appearance and its interior decorative scheme based in the marguerite flower in honour of the founder’s mother and wife. It has mosaic work by Ludwig Oppenheimer and glass by Heaton, Butler & Bayne. This meeting will also be our AGM. Local historian Jill Cronin will be our guide at St Anne’s.
