Kiss the World Beautiful

Date: 02 November 2009 - 30 November 2009  7.30pm – 9.30pm

Beginners’ Workshops in Engaging with Contemporary Culture’

Five session on 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th November.

Jesus described his followers as the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Both are ‘earthy’ metaphors, implying the biblical truth that our Christian faith must be worked out in the midst of ordinary, everyday life, not in detachment from it. For many Christians, however, living out their faith in the context of contemporary culture is a daunting prospect. How can we demonstrate the timeless relevance of the gospel in our particular time and place?

To help facilitate a practical response to this challenge, LICC has adapted material from its acclaimed Toolbox course into five workshops. Each of the five workshops will contain a stimulating mix of teaching, discussion and practical exercises. The course will be delivered by Nigel Hopper (Lecturer in Contemporary Culture) and Antony Billington (Head of Faculty) from LICC, as well as Becky Silver, John Lee and others from LICC Manchester.

For more information with regard to the course follow the web link. We would recommend that where possible participants should attempt to commit to all five sessions.
