Grants & Investments
On behalf of all the churches in the diocese, Church House collects national grants worth £2.5 million and £1.6 million from investments and property. The value of the grants and investments saves your church an average of £12,540 each year.
The Finance Team is responsible for managing the Glebe investments which are held in agricultural land, commercial and residential land, and buildings. In 2008 a revaluation of the Glebe investments was completed and the current market value is £14 million.
The total investment income received in 2008 was £1,646,000, of which £1,144,000 was directly attributable to the Glebe investments. Without this very important income stream, Parish Share increases would be significantly higher.
