Mission weekends are a great way to reach people in parishes with a particular focus on mission lasting only a couple of days. They can be a good learning experience for churches and running one each year is quite possible for most churches.
If you would like to run one, contact the canon evangelist Tony Hardy, and depending upon what you are thinking about, he will suggest a small team to help your church run a mission weekend.
People bring their interests and hobbies, put on performances and much more. This will be on the Saturday, with a concert during the evening. Sunday services might pick up the theme with celebrations and teaching on creation or similar. People might make things on Saturday, and bring them on Sunday! Naturally, the invitation to get involved is put to the whole community and is a good way to meet new people.
