Community Development Worker

Are you an enthusiastic and experienced Community Development Worker? This could be the job for you!

We want to recruit a Community Development Worker to meet the growing needs of our community and how to manage our resources for their benefit.

We are looking for a talented candidate who understands the needs of, and difficulties faced by, people living in East Oldham, and who can make a genuine contribution to our efforts to raise the quality of life across all generations.

This role is focused on understanding the needs and wishes of local people and how they can effectively raise their own and their community’s aspirations and management of our resources namely St Barnabas Church and the Barnabas Community Project.

You must be able to manage your own workload and work as an effective member of a small team. You must have sympathy with the values and mission of the Anglican/Christian Church, and able to work ecumenically.

The Inter-Diocesan Counselling Service is recruiting counsellors to support clergy, their families and other church workers.

The team are all trained and experienced counsellors who offer their time freely and work from their own homes to support clients confidentially through a wide variety of challenges.

We work across the dioceses of Manchester, Liverpool, Blackburn, Carlisle and Chester and have the financial and pastoral support of all the bishops.

We are currently recruiting new counsellors to join our team. If you feel you may qualify and are interested in offering yourself for this valuable work please contact our Facilitator Sue Jones or Supervisor Liz Grady.

We need counsellors with:

- Qualification in Counselling , up to Diploma Level
- 2 years post qualification or 250 hours counselling experience.
- Ability to see clients at your home at your and their convenience
- Ability to attend bi monthly team meetings
- Ability to meet with our supervisor bi monthly
- Willingness to attend one overnight meeting/training annually

All travel and related out of pocket expenses are met by the service.
