In 2010 devastating floods in Pakistan left millions homeless, with many dead. In 2011 similar floods caused as much damage, although poorly reported because of disasters elsewhere.
The Manchester Diocesan Lahore Link Group in partnership with Tearfund is putting on an event in order to raise money for the redevelopment of areas affected by the floods.
On Friday 9 March 2012 in Manchester Cathedral starting at 7.30pm ‘After the Flood – hope and a future’, will include the Singout Choir, Keith Ayling and Hannah Latty (solo artists) and the Pakistani Christian Choir, with comedian Tony Vino as compere.
There will be an up to date presentation of the situation in Pakistan from TearFund’s recently returned area representative.
Tickets £10 (£5 for children under 16).
More information and tickets from email: hopeandafuture12@gmail.com or call 0161 321 1440. Cheques payable to TearFund and send to Simon Ambrose, at Diocese of Manchester, 90 Deansgate, Manchester M3 2GH.
