Members of St Anne's Junior Choir provided a night of musical entertainment on May 13 courtesy of their director of music, Ken Bayliss.
There really was something for everyone during the evening which featured a variety of instuments including the piano, oboe, cello, violin, flute, clarinet and recorders.
The music reflected a range of styles and composers and included pieces by Albert Biehr and Carl Baermann, the haunting Ashokan Farewell, a lively Hoe Down for the recorder and two popular pieces for the bagpipes, played by 10-year-old Freddie Bearn, which had the audience tapping their feet and clapping their hands.
Youngsters had been practising for weeks and their performances both individually and as a group illustrated just how wonderful the young people are and just how much time and effort they are prepared to put into their musical pursuits.
The Junior Choir sang a selection of songs which sounded as polished as ever, demonstrating what a credit they are to St Anne's and reinforcing how lucky the church is to have Ken Bayliss at the helm steering them all in the right direction.
