THURSDAY 3 SEPTEMBER 7pm
Isabel Wollaston is a Senior Lecturer in Theology at the University of Birmingham. Her book, 'A War Against Memory? The future of Holocaust Remembrance' (1996) is a classic work on the topic. Contact Canon Andrew Shanks for further details.
SUNDAY 6 SEPTEMBER 1pm until 4pm
Hear the inspirational words of a Manchester Holocaust survivor and have the opportunity to reflect creatively through drama activities upon the experiences of teenage life during the Holocaust.
Please book in advance, as places are limited in number. Intended for ages 10-16, all children must be accompanied by an adult.
MONDAY 7 SEPTEMBER 7pm until 9pm
Holocaust Survivor testimony – Mayer’s story.
This is aimed at an adult and young people 15+ years of age; please book in advance as places are limited in number
TUESDAY 8 SEPTEMBER- THE ASYLUM MONOLOGUES 7pm until 8pm
Written by play right Sonja Linden and performed by actors for human rights. “A first-hand account of the UK’s asylum system in the words of people who have experienced it. With personal testimony at its core combined with public opinion, political statements and statistical fact”
This will be followed by a post show discussion including the director of the Asylum Monologues and speakers involved in the refugee sector in Manchester.
SUNDAY 13 SEPTEMBER- ART WORKSHOPS BASED ON THE THEME OF PEACE 1pm until 4pm
We will be hosting art activities based on the theme of “Peace”.
Amongst the activities will be the international “pinwheels for peace” project. Worldwide, participants will create pinwheels displaying thoughts and images about "war and peace, tolerance and harmony with others".
All are welcome to take part in the creative drop in workshops.
TUESDAY 15 SEPTEMBER 7pm until 9pm

This is aimed at adults and young people 15+ years of age; please book in advance as places are limited in number
SUNDAY 20TH SEPTEMBER 1pm until 4pm
The Diary of Anne Frank [+you} - Story telling workshop.
This interactive story telling workshop will bring the words of Anne frank to life. This workshop is perfect for those interested in creative writing, drama and personal expression.
Please book in advance, as places are limited in number. Intended for ages 10-16, all children must be accompanied by an adult.
TUESDAY 22 SEPTEMBER 7pm until 9pm
In The Habitations of Death
An evening of music and poetry relating to the holocaust.
Poetry by Nelly Sachs transcribed to English by Cannon Andrew Shanks.
