This Saturday a group of brave volunteers will be attempting something that hasn't been done for over 20 years: abseiling down St Mary's Church Tower in Rawtenstall town centre!
As if the 70ft vertical drop wasn't enough, many of the 20 volunteers will be abseiling in FANCY DRESS... one of them is even rumoured to be going down head first!
It would be great to see a huge crowd of spectators pack into the grounds of St Mary's Church on 15 August to cheer on the brave abseilers
This is Vision's second official fundraising event for 2009. All the money raised on the day and through sponsorship will be put straight into Vision's work with 11-19 year olds in schools, on the streets, in churches, and concerts. The target for the year is £25,000 which the church aims to raise by 13 September.
