Tearfund wants your help to campaign for clean water for millions of people. 1 in 3 people have no access to a decent toilet and 1 in 8 have no clean water.
Can you add your voice to the campaign for action to address the water and sanitation crisis engulfing the developing world? We want the UK Government to put taps and toilets on its international development agenda.
Come and join a photo stunt in Albert Square at 9.00am on 23 September.
There will be six ft water cooler filled with dirty water in the square. The idea is to create a water cooler moment where supporters are gathered around the cooler reading mocked up newspapers called ‘The Toilet Paper’.
Please wear suits, ideally pin stripes or black/navy/grey to create an image that reflects people working in the city. Tearfund will provide lots of plastic bowler hats!
Tearfund is calling for a Global Plan of Action on water and sanitation to be agreed by 2010. This plan would set out the steps and costs that need to be taken to achieve the MDG target on water and sanitation by 2015.
