Clergy across Greater Manchester extended a warm welcome for people to come back to church this sunday, 27 September.
The biggest ever invitation to come Back to Church was unveiled across Manchester. The 20ft by 30ft invitation to come Back to Church was seen in Manchester, Bolton and Oldham as an advertising truck toured the region.
The invitation from bishops, clergy and congregations is part of Back to Church Sunday on September 27th, inviting people to ‘Come as you are’.
The colossal, mobile invitation was unveiled by the Bishop of Manchester outside St Ann's Church.
The Bishop of Manchester, the Rt Revd Nigel McCulloch, said, “Churches across Greater Manchester will be taking part in Back to Church Sunday on September 27th. Our invitation is simple – Just come as you are. Church is definitely not about how you look, what you do, or how well you sing. All are welcome.”
The Bishop of Middleton, the Rt Revd Mark Davies, said, “We invite people to come as they are this Sunday and experience an extra special warm welcome from their local parish church. We look forward to meeting acquaintances old and new this Sunday.”
