David Bailey will bring to the diocese further gifts in mission and enhance our ability in connecting the church with the needs of the 21 century. He has a high reputation and I look forward enormously to his joining us in Manchester Diocese.”

Canon Bailey said, “I am thrilled to have been invited by Bishop Nigel to be part of his team and look forward to crossing the Pennines to help implement vision and strategy in the Diocese of Manchester. After 28 years of ministry in a wide variety of parishes I will be eager to get to know the clergy and people of Bolton Archdeaconry and help them fulfil the mission to which God has called them. I know that I shall enjoy all the good things Lancashire has to offer, even though I will still be supporting Yorkshire in Roses matches!”
