Time travellers have tales to tell

29 July 2008

The 30 members of the children’s summer holiday club at St Margaret’s, Prestwich, shared in a wide variety of activities with a “time travelling” theme.

Co-ordinated by a team of adults and teenagers led by St Margaret’s priest-in-charge, the Revd Debby Plummer, the club took the children (between the ages of 8 and 11) back to a different Biblical era each day where they heard stories, enjoyed baking and craft sessions, made models, played games, learned songs, danced and made new friends!

The stories of the Creation, the Flood, Joseph and his twelve brothers, the Good Samaritan and the Resurrection were the backdrop to successive days’ activities.

An open evening on Friday gave parents and friends the chance to see what the children had been up to during the week, and watch a DVD of highlights from the packed programme.

Debby said: “I was delighted with the creativity and variety of the programme, the sheer professionalism of the team and the lovely friendships which have been growing. A very good time was had by everyone. It really has been an all-singing, all-dancing week!”
