Key Stage 3 RE

‘The Framework for Religious Education in Church of England Secondary Schools’ provides guidance to governing bodies, headteachers and RE departments on the philosophy, approach and Anglican content of RE in CE schools. It has grown out of The National Society’s publication ‘Excellence and Distinctiveness’ and promotes much of the approach of the QCA and DfES ‘non-statutory national framework for Religious Education’. In particular, it adopts the QCA attainment targets and level descriptors as the foundation for planning, assessment and reporting as well as the breadth of study and range of experiences and opportunities which the best learning in RE should provide.

There is also guidance on teaching and learning about Christianity, other world religions and world views as well as recommendations on teaching time and staffing. The full document can be viewed from this page.

You can also link to the QCA levels and to the levels in accessible language.
