You can play your part in spreading the message of the ground-breaking Good Childhood Inquiry this year by organising a Christingle service.
Christingles are a fun and engaging way to bring together children, family and friends, schools and youth groups, to celebrate the Christian story in an inspiring way and consider the issues the report raises.
Last year, more than 170 Christingle services took place in the Diocese of Manchester raising more than £26,500. This money enables The Children's Society to continue to help disadvantaged children in the UK, including local projects Safe in the City and anti-bullying work in Rochdale’s schools.
Organising a Christingle service in your parish couldn’t be easier with The Children’s Society’s wide range of resources which include liturgy, prayers, posters, school and children’s activities, stickers, and candles. Visit www.christingle.org or call 0845 300 1128 for details.
The Children’s Society has been operating in the diocese for over 100 years. They need more volunteers to help raise the profile of the Society in parishes and to raise vital funds. If you can help, contact Chris Clarke, Regional Community Fundraising Manager on 01625 528025.
