Safeguarding children is a very important aspect of schools for everyone, including governors. Several documents are attached to give some guidance. Further advice can be obtained from the Board of Education, as well as from the local authority.
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks are a vital part of our procedures in seeking to safeguard children and young people. A DBS check (called a ‘disclosure’) is required for any person regularly caring for, training, supervising or in sole charge of children and/or young people under the age of 18.
