We advise that parishes which employ people in any capacity purchase a current copy of the Employer’s Handbook, author Barry Cushway, published by Kogan Page. This contains up to date information and access to downloadable documents about all aspects of employment.

Disclosure and Barring Service Checks

Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks are a vital part of our procedures in seeking to safeguard children and young people. A DBS check (called a ‘disclosure’) is required for any person regularly caring for, training, supervising or in sole charge of children and/or young people under the age of 18.

Disclosure applications are now made online. Click here for details.

Tracking DBS Applications

Applications can be tracked using this link (This only works in Internet Explorer or Firefox browsers at present)

To track, you will need to know the DBS form reference number (this usually begins with an E) and date of birth (ddmmyyyy) for each applicant.
