SUMMARY:Service of Reflection for Those Involved in Safeguarding
DESCRIPTION:Safeguarding is a responsibility we all share\, and this February we invite everyone to join us for a special Service of Reflection for those involved in Safeguarding. The service will take place at Manchester Cathedral on Monday\, 16 February 2026 at 7pm. \n\n\n\nThis annual service provides an opportunity to pause\, reflect\, and pray for all who work tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of others. It is also a time to remember victims and survivors of abuse\, acknowledging the pain and challenges they face. We understand that for some\, attending in person may be difficult. Please be assured that you will be held in our prayers throughout the service. \n\n\n\nTo make participation accessible\, we are exploring the option of live streaming the service\, as we did last year\, so that those who prefer to join from the security of their own homes can do so. Confirmation of this will follow shortly. \n\n\n\nWe especially encourage Parish Safeguarding Officers and members of Diocesan Safeguarding Advisory Panel (DSAP) to attend\, as your presence and support are invaluable. \n\n\n\nLooking ahead\, we have already scheduled future services with the Cathedral for the next three years: \n\n\n\n\nMonday\, 8 February 2027\n\n\n\nMonday\, 28 February 2028\n\n\n\n\nThese dates have been chosen to fall on the Monday before Ash Wednesday\, offering a meaningful time of reflection without conflicting with Shrove Tuesday activities. \n\n\n\nPlease mark these dates in your diaries and join us in prayer and solidarity as we continue to uphold the vital work of safeguarding.

SUMMARY:Gathering for Global Majority Heritage Communities
DESCRIPTION:In recent months\, members of our Global Majority Heritage (GMH) community have shared their experiences with honesty and courage through a survey and individual conversations. You have spoken about what has brought hope\, what has caused pain\, and where change is needed\, and senior leaders want you to know that they have been listening. This gathering is an opportunity to respond to what has been heard. Rooted in humility\, dignity\, and care\, it will be a space of openness rather than defensiveness\, where every voice is valued and every experience treated with respect. The gathering aims to help us move from listening toward real cultural change – living out racial justice not just as an aspiration\, but as a shared\, lived reality.Event DetailsDate: Tuesday\, 17th MarchTime: 2pm to 3.30pmVenue: Windrush Millennium Centre\, 70 Alexandra Road\, Moss Side\, M16 7WNAll members of the GMH community are warmly invited to attend.

SUMMARY:Rochdale Deanery Gathering
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a Rochdale Deanery celebration event. People from our parishes\, chaplaincies\, and schools will come together to reflect on how God is renewing lives and communities and to explore the next steps we can take together. \n\n\n\nWe’ll share our vision\, hear stories of hope from our deanery\, and outline the national support and investment that is strengthening our mission and ministry. \n\n\n\nWe will explore the four themes at the heart of our diocese’s strategy and how national funding will support our deanery: \n\n\n\n· Parish Renewal \n\n\n\n· Growing Younger \n\n\n\n· Church Planting and Revitalisation \n\n\n\n· Developing Missional Leaders \n\n\n\nYou’ll hear local stories of creativity\, faithfulness\, and discipleship – offering ideas and encouragement for your own ministry context. \n\n\n\nThe evening will be led by one of our bishops alongside members of the teams responsible for supporting the delivery of our shared vision. Through worship\, prayer\, and conversation\, we will celebrate what God is doing\, acknowledge the challenges we face\, and highlight the support\, resources\, and investment available to help us flourish. \n\n\n\nThese gatherings are for everyone: clergy\, lay leaders\, members of PCCs\, school staff\, chaplains\, volunteers\, new worshippers\, and anyone curious about where God might be calling us. We hope you’ll leave inspired and equipped to share this vision in your local context. \n\n\n\nDoors open at 6.45pm for refreshments\, the event will start at 7.15pm.
