The second Diocese of Manchester Generosity and Thankfulness Conference took place on 24 September. It was a big success with around 200 people attending the online event, including clergy and laity from our churches, plus sponsors, exhibitors, and speakers.

The feedback from our clergy has been very positive. Revd Will Rubie of St Martin’s Church, Heaton Norris, said: “It was an incredible conference. I thought that the day was put together so well with a fantastic balance of practical resourcing, theological underpinning and stories of hope. It was also timely for us at St Martin's as we seek to begin significant fundraising for our potential building project. I came away motivated and resourced to lead St Martin's through this next stage”.

Eulyn Griffin, Gift Aid Secretary at William Temple Church, Wythenshawe, said: “A heartfelt thank you for this wonderful event, it was just what I needed to keep me going. I will be sharing the materials and links with my church”.

The Archdeacon of Manchester, Ven Karen Lund, was delighted the event was such a success. She said: “I am really encouraged by the comments and direct messages I have read following the conference. Many of our churches have informed me they will be making great use of the information and resources shared at the conference. I would like to thank Paul Bailey, Diocesan Giving Advisor, who was the architect of the day and brought all of us together”.
