Bishop Mark Ashcroft explains the role of our chaplains in ministry across the diocese.
The Diocese of Manchester is incredibly blessed with the chaplains that we have. We have an amazing team at the airport, we have some significant work amongst the prisons, supporting both staff and inmates, and teams in our hospitals, schools and universities.
God often connects with people at places of vulnerability in their lives and often we do chaplaincy in places that are outside the parish system but where people are open to something new that's happening to them. So at these vulnerable moments in people's lives it's really important to have a dedicated, pastoral team that make up the chaplaincy, together with their volunteers, who love and care for people and are alongside them, just as God is alongside us in all the difficult times of our lives.
