Our new Authorised Lay Ministers
11 September 2017 IN: People News
Manchester Cathedral played host to another fantastic celebration and commissioning of Authorised Lay Ministers. Lay development and training is something very much at the heart of the diocese and this year saw another bumper batch of 45 ALMs being newly commissioned, alongside who were re-commissioned following their initial authorisation period.
ALMs came from far and wide to receive the Bishop’s authorisation in their various ministerial areas of youth work, children’s work, mission, community, parish administration, pastoral care, prayer and spirituality, and worship.
The lay minsters have been sent out to serve their local parish, ministering alongside the wider lay and clergy teams.
The closing date for 2018 applications is 31 October. New ministry electives will include ecology and creation, and primary school chaplaincy. To find out more, contact Jamie Mackenzie.
