New Appointment: Children Changing Places Project
03 December 2018 IN: Schools
The Diocese is pleased to announce the appointment of Rachel Eden who will lead the Children Changing Places Project team as Project Manager from January 2019. We very much look forward to working alongside her within such an exciting and valuable project.
The Church Commissioners granted funding for strategic development within three Deaneries in the Bolton Archdeaconry covering the entire geography of Bolton Council. The Children Changing Places Project aims to create discipleship pathways for children and young people across Bolton over the next five years.
Here is a little introduction to Rachel;
“I started out as a youth and children’s worker with Pais on placement with a number of different churches in the UK. Whilst volunteering on the Eden Project, Failsworth (TheMessage Trust), I set up a performing arts school for young people. Following this, I trained as a drama teacher and studied for an MA at the University of Manchester. I explored the many ways in which the Arts can be used to help people in a community setting. I then taught drama at the Oldham College, later becoming a Curriculum Manager. Moving to Bolton College three years ago, I have enjoyed managing a department and building links into the community, closer to home.
I continue to play an active leadership role in church life, including children’s ministry, mentoring, discipleship and preaching. I am married to Steve who works for GM Police and our children Summer and Ben attend a fantastic CE School. I am delighted to be leading the project in our hometown of Bolton.”
