Further to the announcement earlier this year of the appointment of full-time Area Deans to help Manchester Diocese achieve its vision for 2030, we are delighted to announce the name of the seventh Area Dean. Revd Nick Watson, currently Team Rector of Wednesfield Team Ministry (Lichfield Diocese) and Rural Dean of Wulfrun, has been appointed Area Dean for Manchester South and Stretford. All seven Area Deans will be licensed by Bishop David at Manchester Cathedral on Sunday 6 June at 5.30pm. Please pray for them as they begin their new ministry in the diocese. Our seven new Area Deans are: Bolton Deanery - Revd Simon Cook Bury and Rossendale Deanery - Revd Canon Dr Rachel Mann Manchester North and East Deanery - Revd Helen Scanlan Manchester South and Stretford – Revd Nick Watson Oldham and Ashton Deanery - Revd Daniel Ramble Rochdale Deanery - Revd Canon Karen Smeeton Salford and Leigh Deanery - Revd Colin Pearson The Area Deans will work closely with Lay Chairs and other ordained and lay leaders in each deanery, to lead the delivery of the diocese’s transformation programme at local level.
