The Gift Aid Officer is responsible for administering the Gift Aid scheme, which enables basic rate tax to be reclaimed by the parish on donations it has received.
The diocese remains committed to supporting our parishes with Gift Aid and maintaining high standards. Over 130 parishes use the administration support scheme – Gift Aid Lite – which is a ‘free’ service available to all churches. Training sessions are held annually, aimed at providing basic training for all those new to Gift Aid administration.
In addition following the success of the 2004 Self Audit, an internal auditing programme has been agreed with HM Revenue and Customs. This is aimed at maintaining the standards achieved within the Self Audit.
