Service to Celebrate Reader Ministry Held at Manchester Cathedral

11th July 2025

On Sunday afternoon, we gathered at Manchester Cathedral to celebrate the vital ministry of Readers across our diocese. In a joyful service led by Bishop Matthew Porter, six new Readers were admitted, and five were honoured with the title of Reader Emeritus.

Celebrate our Reader Licensing Service at Manchester Cathedral

Join us at Manchester Cathedral on Sunday, 6th July 2025 for our Reader Licensing Service, taking place from 3pm to 4:30pm. This marks the licensing of new Readers — dedicated lay people who have completed their training and are now being formally commissioned for ministry by the Bishop.
