Local Ministry Officer

This role is responsible for the Authorised Lay Ministry Course, the Foundations for Ministry Course, and resourcing local ministry in parishes.

You will require a degree level theological qualification and experience in teaching courses.

For the post you will be required to be in sympathy with the aims and values of the Church of England. The Local Ministry Officer post has an Occupational Requirement for the post holder to be a practising Christian in accordance with schedule 9 to the equality Act 2010.

Parish Development Officer

Pay Scale: £25,283 to £30,192

The role is to assist with fundraising, income generation and intelligence gathering. The key function is developing capacity at parish and deanery level. Experience in community development is key as is understanding volunteering.

The job holder will:
• enable people at parish and borough deanery level to increase their community impact and develop ideas that relate to caring for the wider world.
• make the work of Diocesan Task Groups and Departments have real relevance to local churches and their congregation.
• enable parishes to celebrate and offer support through the natural lifecycle of congregation and mission.

The post holder will offer each parish the opportunity to develop their own approach to mission through a short development session called “Position, Profile and Plan”.

The post holder will also be key in developing and providing resources to assist parishes in undertaking this activity

Heritage & Archdeaconry Resources Adviser

This role is a three-year fixed term post, funded jointly by English Heritage. The post requires you to have an interest in England’s historic places of worship and to be able to work at parish and deanery level to ensure the infrastructure of the church is developed taking account of such assets. You will also engage in broader parish capacity building work.
