A Journey of Faith and Music

In 2018, Ima set herself the challenge of singing in 100 churches over 100 years old. This month, Ima completed her challenge with her hundredth and final performance!

Back in 2018, Ima Lomax, Deanery Transformation Support Officer in Bolton and Bury, wrote a song titled “Emmanuel Our God Through Ages Past”. Inspired by the presence of God’s Kingdom across time, the song celebrates how He is found in churches of every shape, size, and era.

Ima then set herself the challenge of singing the song in 100 churches over 100 years old, and over the past seven years has travelled across the region and beyond to sing in a wide variety of sacred spaces. Ima has even travelled as far as Rome, where she sang in Rome Baptist Church.

This month, Ima completed her challenge with her hundredth and final performance of the song at her home church, Bridge Church Bolton, marking the end of this seven-year journey. Congratulations Ima on this incredible achievement!

If you’ve had the joy of hearing Ima sing, you’ll know she’s been a true blessing to every church she has visited.
