Data Developments Online Training – Gift Aid Session 2
December 8 @ 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Data Developments, recommended by the Church of England for parish accounting software, provides reliable and user-friendly solutions for managing church finances. Recognising the frequent questions around accounting and Gift Aid, they have created free online training courses for treasurers and Gift Aid secretaries.
These courses offer clear guidance, practical examples, and helpful tips for both new and experienced volunteers. Each session concludes with a Q&A, giving you the chance to ask questions. Led by past and present treasurers and Gift Aid secretaries, the sessions aim to promote good practice, improve reporting, and support volunteers in their roles.
The courses cover topics such as:
Treasurer Training (5:00pm – 6:00pm)
- Wed 26 Nov – Understanding the role of the treasurer and best practice
- Wed 03 Dec – What is fund accounting and the different types of funds
- Wed 10 Dec – Financial controls: what they are and why they matter
- Wed 17 Dec – Preparing for year-end and the Independent Examination
Gift Aid & GASDS (1:00pm – 2:00pm)
- Mon 01 Dec – What is Gift Aid and how to claim it
- Mon 08 Dec – What money can and can’t be claimed
- Mon 15 Dec – What is GASDS, how it differs from Gift Aid, and how to claim
All sessions are recorded, so you can revisit them whenever you need. You can register for the full course or choose individual sessions that suit your needs.
