Service of Reflection for Those Involved in Safeguarding
February 16, 2026 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Safeguarding is a responsibility we all share, and this February we invite everyone to join us for a special Service of Reflection for those involved in Safeguarding. The service will take place at Manchester Cathedral on Monday, 16 February 2026 at 7pm.
This annual service provides an opportunity to pause, reflect, and pray for all who work tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of others. It is also a time to remember victims and survivors of abuse, acknowledging the pain and challenges they face. We understand that for some, attending in person may be difficult. Please be assured that you will be held in our prayers throughout the service.
To make participation accessible, we are exploring the option of live streaming the service, as we did last year, so that those who prefer to join from the security of their own homes can do so. Confirmation of this will follow shortly.
We especially encourage Parish Safeguarding Officers and members of Diocesan Safeguarding Advisory Panel (DSAP) to attend, as your presence and support are invaluable.
Looking ahead, we have already scheduled future services with the Cathedral for the next three years:
- Monday, 8 February 2027
- Monday, 28 February 2028
These dates have been chosen to fall on the Monday before Ash Wednesday, offering a meaningful time of reflection without conflicting with Shrove Tuesday activities.
Please mark these dates in your diaries and join us in prayer and solidarity as we continue to uphold the vital work of safeguarding.
