Next week, listeners across the country will tune in to a special series of BBC Daily Service broadcasts featuring local women clergy, alongside the beautiful voices of the Bolton Parish Church Choir, Bolton Junior Choir, and the Sing My Soul Choral Scholars.

Beginning on Monday 9 March, just one day after International Women’s Day, this series offers a fitting moment to celebrate the leadership, faith and creativity of women in ministry across our diocese.

Throughout the week, Revd Hannah Lane, Archdeacon Rachel Mann, Canon Grace Thomas and Revd Hannah Currin, will lead these online services on the theme of “Sing My Soul”.

On Friday, the service will be led by the Choral Scholars who have been taking part in our Sing My Soul programme – a collaboration with St. Martin-in-the-Fields. They will reflect on their experience of being a part of this innovative project, finding community in singing, and explore music’s role in bringing people together.

Broadcast Schedule (BBC Radio 4 Extra, 09:45am):

Monday, 9th March – Sing My Soul – Sing to the Lord with Revd Hannah Lane

Tuesday, 10th March – Sing My Soul – Joyful Songs with Archdeacon Rachel Mann

Wednesday, 11th March – Sing My Soul – Give Praise to the Lord with Canon Grace Thomas

Thursday, 12th March – Sing My Soul – My Soul Glorifies the Lord with Revd Hannah Currin

Friday, 13th March – Sing My Soul – The Power of Music

Whether you are at home, on your commute, or looking for a quiet moment in your day, take some time to tune into these services on BBC Radio 4 Extra at 9:45am or listen back on BBC Sounds at this link.
