Our Next Steps in Racial Justice
We’re excited to share some important updates on our Racial Justice Programme. This work is rooted in our calling to “act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God” (Micah 6:8).
We’re excited to share some important updates on our Racial Justice Programme. This work is rooted in our calling to “act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God” (Micah 6:8), and we are committed to making racial justice a visible and lived reality across our parishes.
This week, we are holding interviews for two new roles:
- Racial Justice Support Officer
- Racial Justice Administrator
Through these new roles, we’ll be able to walk alongside more parishes, offering resources, training, and guidance. They will also help us to build networks, aligning with our vision of creating spaces for connection and learning, so that racial justice becomes part of our shared culture. You can expect to see regular updates in newsletters and events that keep this work front and centre.
These positions will help us support many more parishes as they embed racial justice into their life and mission, signalling a significant step forward in ensuring this work is not just aspirational but practical and sustainable.
Grants
Funding is available to support initiatives and projects that promote diverse ministry and racial equality in parishes across our diocese. The purpose of this funding is to empower churches to engage in ministry projects, launch new activities, or develop resources – written or physical – that support racial justice and contribute to the delivery of our diocese’s 10-year strategy for long-term church growth. Together, we can make this work meaningful and transformative.
