Last Saturday, Bury Parish Church held a prayer vigil in response to the Call to Prayer issued by the Archbishop of Hong Kong, The Most Revd Andrew Chan, following the devastating fire in Tai Po district, Hong Kong.
The vigil was attended by over 80 people, who came to show solidarity with those in Hong Kong who are grieving and in shock after the tragic fire last Wednesday. Despite the short notice, the turnout for the vigil shows the deep concern and care that Hong Kong communities in our diocese have for their friends and families in Hong Kong.

At the vigil, prayers were offered for those who have lost their lives and all who have been affected by the disaster. The service also provided a space for peace and reflection for those feeling anxious about the safety of loved ones in Hong Kong.
The Revd Kenson Li, Curate at Manchester Cathedral, helped organise the vigil and is pictured above.
