St Peter’s Levenshulme Hosts Packed Community Hustings

St Peter’s Church in Levenshulme recently opened its doors as it hosted a well-attended hustings event.

St Peter’s Church in Levenshulme recently opened its doors as it hosted a well-attended hustings event for the forthcoming Gorton and Denton by‑election, organised in partnership with the Levenshulme Community Association.

Every seat was taken, and there was standing room only as more than 250 local residents filled the church. Ten election candidates joined the panel, and each was given the opportunity to introduce themselves and respond to questions put forward by attendees.

The event highlighted the important role our churches play in bringing neighbours together and providing space for active participation in public life. As the by‑election approaches, we hold the community in prayer, asking that Christ’s peace, wisdom and unity guide all who live, work and serve there.
