School Effectiveness Officer

The successful candidate will work directly with schools and teachers across the diocese, supporting church schools and academies in their preparation for, and in response to inspections.

Manchester Diocese Board of Education (BOE) is an incorporated statutory body of the Diocese of Manchester. The Education Department supports the leadership and management of one hundred and ninety-two Church of England schools and academies, serving 60,000 pupils across Greater Manchester. We are seeking to expand our team with the appointment of a School Effectiveness Officer.

The role is available on a part‑time basis of 17.5 hours per week.

The successful candidate will work directly with schools and teachers across the diocese supporting church schools and academies in their preparation for, and in response to inspections. The role will support school effectiveness through providing support and training to school leaders, staff, governors and clergy. The post holder will be a qualified teacher and have previous experience in school effectiveness.

There is an Occupational Requirement for the post holder to be a practising Christian in accordance with Schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010
