All Saints Stand celebrates 200 years

All Saints Stand in Whitefield is celebrating a significant milestone this year, giving thanks for 200 years of Christian worship and witness. Designed by the renowned architect Sir Charles Barry and consecrated in September 1826, the church is a distinctive and much-loved landmark.

As part of the bicentenary celebrations, Bishop David will lead a special Holy Communion service at 10am on Sunday, 13th September, marking two centuries of faith, prayer and service to the local community. All are invited to attend.

A varied programme of music and performances is also planned throughout the autumn, including big band jazz with Dr Jazz and the Cheshire Cats, an organ recital by Dr William McVicker, a performance by the Besses Boys Band, and Handel’s Messiah presented by the Brixi Singers, soloists and a small orchestra.

Tickets for all events will be available on the door.
