Diocese of Manchester

Church for a different world

What are our
five priorities?

Find out more
The vision of the Diocese of Manchester is to be a worshiping, growing and transforming Christian presence at the heart of every community.
Its core message of faith, hope and love is as relevant today as it’s ever been.

Bishop David asks the question: “How do we need to change to make the Church of today be the Church of tomorrow?” Recognising that the modern world is a noisy place in which it can be difficult to get noticed, he is challenging his Church to become ‘Church for a different world’.

Bishop David has taken his message to a series of roadshows across the diocese to get the conversation started. You can join in through CRUXTwitter and our Facebook page.

Church for a Different World awards

Bishop David has announced the Church for Different World Awards for 2018 in recognition of churches that are reaching out to their communities in new and innovative ways.

There is an opportunity for everyone within the diocese to get involved and face some key challenges together. To start the conversation, we've focused on five key areas that we're currently facing as a Church and as a diocese.

Delivering church

How can we imaginatively deliver Church?

Addressing social injustice

How can we continue to be an active force for change?

Nurturing people

How can we better support one another?

Spreading spirituality

How can we engage new people in our conversation?

Transforming communities

Can we transform our local communities without changing a little ourselves?
