Church School Leaders Gather for Leadership Day

Manchester Monastery hosted headteachers and senior leaders from CE schools and trusts across Manchester Diocese for a leadership day. Focused on the theme of “Character in Leadership”, the keynote speakers included Professor Tom Harrison from the Jubilee Centre for Character & Virtues at the University of Birmingham, and Pastor Nick Johnson from The Lane Church, Liverpool.

We were also joined by colleagues from the Archbishops’ Young Leader Awards, DBE Services and the Taste & See bookshop run by members of the Maranatha Community.

The day’s speakers used biblical teachings to highlight how character can be “caught, taught and sought”.

The Shades Team was joined by Shades Ambassadors from St John’s CE Primary School, Thornham, to lead collective worship, during which the nave was filled with colourful flags and scarves as we sang together ‘A Million Colours’.

This was a highlight of the day, which reminded everyone in attendance that God loves each of us and we are each created by Him. Everyone left feeling blessed and inspired after a day of thoughtful insights and shared fellowship together.
