Community Raises Funds for St John’s Church
Bishop David recently joined the congregation at St John’s Failsworth to preach and bless their brand-new West End Community Space artwork. This was a celebration of St John’s ongoing journey to repair and renew its Grade II Listed building, an endeavour made possible thanks to the kindness of the local community.

From sponsored walks to fun days, people have come together to support the Friends of St John’s Church Appeal, ensuring this historic landmark continues to serve future generations. The new artwork at the church reflects St John’s vision for mission, inspired by Ezekiel 47:12: that life flowing from worship becomes nourishment for the world. The reaction to the project has been overwhelmingly positive, from the congregation and PCC to benefactors and the wider community.

Revd Aysha St Giles has worked closely with Christine Booth and Jackie Flanagan (churchwardens and treasury team), alongside the DAC, to bring this project to life. It has been a great testament to the power of community and faith, and the funds raised have helped to secure the future of the building.
