EQUIP Weekend: Growing Together, Learning Together

It was a joy to gather with those serving children and young people across our churches and schools at this year’s EQUIP Weekend.

It was a joy to gather with those serving children and young people across our churches and schools at this year’s EQUIP Weekend.

More than 60 leaders and volunteers joined us, making this our largest EQUIP Weekend to date. Centred around the theme See. Build. Grow, we reflected on Paul’s words: “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.” (1 Corinthians 3:6). Together, we explored what it means to faithfully play our part in nurturing faith, trusting God for the growth.

Across the weekend, there was a strong focus on practical, usable ideas. We considered how to build deeper connections with families, communicate faith creatively and clearly, and develop confidence in working with mixed-age groups. Alongside this, we explored children’s and young people’s faith formation and the realities of growing up in 2026.

One of the highlights was hearing stories from across the diocese. There is so much faithful and imaginative work already happening, and sharing experiences was both inspiring and encouraging. It reminded us that we are part of a wider community, learning and growing together.

As we celebrate this milestone, we would love to see even more churches connect with the training available through EQUIP and the diocese’s Growing Younger strategy. Join us at our upcoming EQUIP Spotlight events to find out more:

Let’s continue to see, build, and trust God for the growth.
