Refugee and Asylum Seeker Support Forum

Greater Together Manchester (GTM) is holding its first Refugee and Asylum Seeker Support Forum.

This forum is designed to equip churches with the knowledge, confidence and practical resources needed to support refugees and asylum seekers within their congregations and local communities. It will offer guidance on how the asylum and refugee systems work, where to signpost individuals for support, and what resources are available to churches and church leaders. The forum is open to churches that are new to this area of work and those with established support structures already in place.

What to expect:

• A community network of churches
• Facilitated by GTM representatives
• Access to a growing resource bank (including a Glossary of Key Terms, Letter of Support Templates, list of trusted services across GM)
• A space to share knowledge and resources, ask questions and get answers

GTM recognises that church leaders may have limited capacity, and are therefore happy to welcome representatives on your behalf if you cannot attend. As this is an evolving initiative, your input and feedback are welcome to help shape the forum going forward.
