Applications for Authorised Lay Ministry Training Are Now Open!
Take the next step and explore where your gifts could make a difference in your church or parish context.
Perhaps others have already recognised gifts for ministry in you, or you have been wondering how God might be calling you to serve. This could be your opportunity to take the next step and explore where your gifts could make a difference in your church or parish context.
Authorised Lay Ministry provides an opportunity for lay people with a particular gifting or calling to develop their skills and serve alongside their incumbent and wider ministry team. ALMs play a role in growing, nurturing and serving their parish communities, using their individual gifts to support the life and mission of the local church.
ALM training begins each January with an eight-session Core Leadership Module, followed by a 12-session ministry elective in the summer.
Summer electives available for 2027 include:
- Racial Justice
- Ministry with Children and Families
- Mission and Evangelism
- Parish Admin, Finance and Governance
- Pastoral Outreach and Listening
- Prayer and Spirituality
- Leading Worship and Liturgy
- Ministry with young people
- Ministry with Early Years
If Authorised Lay Ministry could be part of your calling, please contact Bev Angier, Lay Ministry Officer, or visit our ALM webpage to find out more.
