Deanery Conference Inspires Ministry with Younger Generations

The Equip and Encounter teams hosted a ‘Mission Is Possible’ Growing Younger Conference for the Salford and Leigh Deanery on Saturday, bringing together more than 75 people for a day of inspiration and learning focused on ministry with children, young people and families.

Held at St Andrew’s CE Primary School in Boothstown, the conference offered creative ideas and resources for engaging with emerging generations in churches and schools. Attendees heard from Bishop Matthew, who reflected on 2 Timothy 1 and encouraged participants in the shared task of passing on the good news of Jesus to new generations.

The day also highlighted the diocese’s Growing Younger vision, including the work of deanery Encounter workers in developing new mission initiatives to serve children, young people and families. Through a range of workshops led by Equip and Encounter team members, attendees gained specialist training, practical support and fresh ideas to take back to their own contexts.

The conference concluded with a joyful act of worship, bringing to a close a day filled with encouragement, inspiration and gratitude for the many volunteers who faithfully serve in this vital ministry.
