Rt Revd John Gaisford SSC – RIP

We are deeply saddened to share the news that the Rt Revd John Gaisford SSC passed away peacefully on Sunday, 4th January 2026.

Bishop John served faithfully as the Bishop of Beverley from 1994 to 2000. He was ordained in Manchester Cathedral in 1960 and 1961 and began his ministry as Curate at St Hilda’s, Audenshaw.

We give thanks for his devoted service to the Church and extend our condolences to Bishop John’s family and loved ones at this time.
