St Clement’s Celebrates Culture and Community

St Clement’s Church in Openshaw recently welcomed more than 100 people to its Dragon Boat Festival Celebration. The event offered a range of activities for families, including delicious food, a cultural corner and a children’s craft area. Attendees from a variety of cultural backgrounds came together to enjoy the festivities, with many visiting the church for the first time. The celebration was a great success, bringing the local community together for a fun-filled day of culture and connection.

Coming Up at St Clement’s

There is plenty happening at St Clement’s over the coming weeks, with opportunities for people of all ages to come together, explore faith and enjoy fellowship.

On Sunday 9 August at 6.30pm, the church will welcome Neil Baldwin as a special guest at its evening service. Neil’s remarkable life inspired the award-winning BBC film Marvellous, telling the story of a man who refused to be defined by perceived limitations and whose faith shaped an extraordinary journey. Everyone is welcome to attend what promises to be an inspiring and encouraging evening.

St Clement’s will also be running its annual Holiday Bible Club from 25–28 August. This year’s space-themed programme, Blast Off!, invites children aged 4–11 to embark on an exciting adventure through the life of Peter as they discover more about Jesus through games, crafts, drama, music and fun activities. The free club runs each morning from 9.30am to 12.30pm at St Clement’s Church and will conclude with a family barbecue on the final day.
