ABOUT US

Governance

The Diocese of Manchester, like all dioceses in the Church of England, operates through a structure of leadership and decision-making at diocesan, deanery, and parish levels.

Governance is carried out through elected bodies such as Synods, Committees, and Parochial Church Councils (PCCs), which play a vital role in shaping the mission, ministry, and practical life of the Church across our region.

These pages provide information on how these bodies are constituted and regulated, how members are elected, and when they meet. Together, they ensure that the diocese functions transparently, collaboratively, and in alignment with the wider Church of England.
